[Cincinatti: no publisher, 1876. Unbound. Very Good. Small broadside. Measuring approximately 5½" x 12". Printed recto only on thin paper. Old folds and three small stains or foxed spots, light penciling on verso dated September 8, 1876, and two tiny creased tears in the bottom margin, very good with the paper supple.
Prints a 52-line description of the painting, as well as a handful of positive blurbs from the press. The painting, by English artist James Walker and commissioned by General Joseph Hooker, measured 30' wide and 13' tall. Our tentative date attribution is due to the penciled date, as well as the fact that the painting was finished (truncated)
