Published by John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892) along with the poet, Lucy Larcom (1824-1893). The collection features poems for and about children from the U.S. and Great Britain, with small engraved illustrations. First issued by James R. Osgood & Company, Boston, in 1871, this is a later reprint by Houghton Mifflin. (BAL 21901 and 11332).
