1972. Portfolio. Near Fine. A wonderful chronicling --through photos, letters and documents-- of the commission and the 1972 unveiling (both overseen by David Rockefeller, the CEO of Chase Manhattan Bank) of "Group of Four Trees", the first monumental sculpture specifically intended for the United States created by the great French painter and sculptor Jean Dubuffet (1901-1985). The portfolio includes: various original photographs of Jean Dubuffet and David Rickefeller (and his assistant Joseph Verner Reed, who would soon become the Under-Secretary General of the United Nations), either at Dubuffet's studio in France during the construction of "Group (truncated)
