Buddhist Sculptures at the Yun Kang Caves

Modest scuffing and wear on cover including the title label. Internally sound with some spotting and wear. Foxing on protective tissue guards for the color illustrations. Gift inscription on half-title. No jacket. An uncommon book about these caves, now apparently identified as the Yungang Grottoes, which are located in or near the outskirts of Datong, a good-sized Chinese city with a current population of 3 million plus individuals, in northern Shanxi Province. Mulikin (truncated) wrote the text and supplied or created many of the illustrations. Hotchkis created five of the color illustrations as well as many of the black and white. (Inventory #: 95493)
