S. l.: By the actor, 1885. Very good. Leaflet, n. d. (ca 1885); 6 1/2 x 4; chromolithographed illustration to recto, text to verso; edges a bit unevenly trimmed and a tiny spot to upper margin; in very good or better condition.Picturing Oliver Byron on top of a stylized globe, with tiny ladies and gentlemen (including an African-American) bunched below his feet, staring up, the leaflet advertised "The Byron Combination" - the actor's newest comedy, which was praised by the New York Herald as "Not a border drama, far from it. The strongest play in human interest now before the public." Oliver Doud Byron (1842 - 1920), the famous Broadway actor often performing together with his wife - actress Kate Byron, would be remembered not only for his roles, but also for financing the construction of the first firehouse in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1890.
