Arnold Hamilton Maloney ( 1888-1955 ) was a Trinidad born African-American physician, pharmacologist, professor and author, who at age 23 had the distinction of being the youngest minister in the Protestant Episcopal Church.m He left the Church in 1915. From 1931 until 1953 Maloney rose from associate professor to full professor to head of the department of pharmacology (truncated) at Howard University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He is perhaps most known for discovering an antidote for barbiturate poisoning. The Rev. Dr. Edmund H. Oxley, Sr.(1881-1973) was born in Trinidad in 1881. He was the longstanding pastor and rector of St. Andrew's Protestant Episcopal Church, a historical African-American church in Cincinnati. The book is Near Fine, prior owner gift inscription hidden by front flap, final two pages top corner creased.
