A well received book that was a Burgess 99 novel. The basis for the John Boulting directed movie as well as several other adaptations. A tight near fine copy in cloth boards with some toning to the endpapers and in a very good plus dust jacket with a couple of small edge chips, some light soiling to the rear panel and some other minor wear. Still a very pleasing copy with the Edward Gorey illustrated dust jacket that is much more evocative then the plain yellow dust jacket for the British edition.
