The Second Japanese language printing of Cecil Roth's general overview of Jewish history, originally published in 1954 as "A Bird's-Eye View of Jewish History". This edition is based on the 1961 printing issued by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations (that title page is reproduced here on the verso of this (truncated) Japanese title page). Extensive index section at the rear. Publisher's subscription card lain in at the interior rear cover. Text in Japanese. Slipcase sunned with some light foxing. Notes in pen in English from a previous owner the back of the obi. Binding with spine sunned to a purple color.
