Highlands, NC: Jonathan Williams, 1964. First edition. Near fine.. Signed limited "Author's Edition" of Levertov's poetry collection, issued as JARGON 19, following the first trade edition of 1958. Levertov's first Jargon book "initiated a series of trade book publications in the 1960s that made her a major literary figure" (Beam & Owens). OVERLAND was overtly influenced by the work of William Carlos Williams (who wrote in response, "I am really amazed and a little in awe of you. I didn't realize you were so good") and highly praised by fellow Black Mountain Roberts Duncan and Creeley. A lovely copy of a scarce edition, one of just 50 copies. 9.5'' (truncated)
