Previous owner book plate of John Townsend, Baltimore 1830 on front paste down. The second volume is titled "All the Polemical Works of Lorenzo, Published by John C. Totten 1814. Corrected and improved by the author.

The appendix titled "A Journey of Life" by Peggy Dow is not included in this copy. At the bottom of page 359 (truncated) in the appendix the publisher states, "the Appendix by Peggy Dow, mentioned in the Proposals, is in a separate volume - this being so much more than was contemplated - though both for the same price to subscribers, according to the statement."
