A charming picture book for early readers published by McLoughlin as a part of their "Dame Dingle Series". Includes an alphabet on the inside of the upper and lower covers. The story is told in verse, and follows a bunny that narrowly avoids a hunter, school boys throwing rocks, is captured by a farmer and fattened up, and escapes to London, before being caught in a trap and killed by a hunter. Each of the eight pages features a half-page chromolitho illustration to accompany the story. Single vol. (9.5" by 6"), pp. [8], illus., in original illus. (truncated) wrps with image of anthropomorphized bunny on front. Note the back cover depicts two young girls kissing, presumably to comfort one of them for the broken doll at their feet.
