[SHAKESPEARE, William]. Mr. William Shakespeares Comedies, Histories, & Tragedies: A Leaf from Each of the Four Folios]. "Much Ado About Nothing" (pp. 113/114 in the First Folio of 1623); "Macbeth" (pp. 157/158 in the Second Folio of 1632); "Henry VI part I" (pp. 425/426 in the Third Folio of 1664); and "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar" (pp. 21/22 in the Fourth Folio of 1685). [London: 1623, 1632, 1664, 1685].

Four leaves, the first measuring 12 7/8 x 8 3/8 inches (326 x 213 mm), the second leaf measuring 12 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches (320 x 215 mm), the third leaf measuring 12 1/4 x 8 3/8 inches (311 x 210 mm), the fourth leaf measuring 13 1/8 x 8 5/8 inches (333 x 219 mm). Some light toning. Evidence at inner margins of having been removed from a binding. First leaf, "Much Ado" with two tears to blank inner margin, not affecting text. A few instances of small spotting. Forth leaf "Caesar" with a tiny hole, just affecting one letter. Some general darkening to edges. Overall very good and a wonderful addition to any Shakespeare collection.

Page 21 of "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar" included here contains the infamous line "Beware the Ides of March"
