Kemble. Some of the images are a bit questionable by today's standards. Joel Chandler Harris created the fictional narrator Uncle Remus, whose stories were intended to depict the struggles of plantation life in the American South, so that makes a certain (truncated) amount of sense, but does not make them any less problematic. A number of Uncle Remus stories have inspired adaptations to film and television, including Walt Disney's 1946 'Song of the South.'
