Gilt title on the spine is partly faded. Leather is rubbed on the corners and lightly rubbed on the joints and edges. Light to moderate toning to the text and foredge. Occasional light foxing to the text. Small paper label with red vertical printed initials "G T H "L with old ink numbers written on the label is located in the upper left corner of the front paste down. Black ink stamp name of "Smith. Hoag" stamped on the front free end paper.

Contents (sectioned into 6 parts) (truncated) are written in diary fashion and cover the period leading up the American Revolution, Watters ministerial duties during the War, and events up to 1804. Watters (1751-1827) is considered the first American born Methodist circuit rider and was very influential in the Methodist Church.
