Bound in publisher's original green cloth with titles in gilt on spine. Top edge gilt. Numerous illustrations and photos throughout. Square and tight with mild scattered foxing to the pelims with a generally clean interior with no toning to speak of. Some spotting to fore-edge. Some moderate surface and edge rubbing. A touch of wear to spine ends and tips. Inscribed, signed and dated by the author on the front end-paper, "To Margaret L. G. Thomson, with hearty congratulations and our best good wishes from the authoress, Jane Stewart Smith. Fairyville, 30th May 1925-". De-accessioned from the library of Craigcrook Castle, a 17th century castle just outside of Edinburgh. A very pretty collectable copy of an uncommon title, with an interesting provenance and a scarce inscription.
