An illustrated booklet of nursery rhymes published to promote "Air Express, a service of Railway Express Agency and the Schedule Airlines of the U.S." (lower wrapper). REA was a shipping service that operated between 1918 and 1975. The present book shows how they marketed their services to American families, and also how they attempted to navigated a crossroads in the late 1940s and early 1950s when shipping by air rather than train was quickly becoming the norm in some industries. Nursery rhymes in this booklet include Little Jack Horner, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Hickory Dickory Dock, Old Father Hubbard, Jack and Jill, and Little Tommy Tucker. The upper wrapper is illustrated with "Father Goose" in a smart pilot's uniform. Single vol. (4" by 9"), pp. [16], illus., in original illus. self wrps.
