A 5 3/4" x 3 1/2" softcover booklet gives the Officers, Committeemen, and By-Laws of the Young Men's Business Association for Richmond, the "Queen City of the South". This copy was owned by Henry Lee Valentine, the President of the Y.M.B.A. at the time. ~~The Young Men's Business Association was founded to help improve the advancement of the cities interests, and support other organizations with similar goals. ~~An inscription on the front reads in black cursive, "Pres: Private. Original Book, used by Pres. Valentine." Valentine (1867-1931) was one of nine children of Mann Satterwhite Valentine, II, who's collections formed the early foundation of Richmond's Valentine Museum. Henry Lee Valentine was involved in manufacturing. He marked the section on rules outlining his duties as President. Pasted inside the front cover is a list of the agenda to each meeting, with most items crossed out or otherwise marked by Valentine. ~~Very good condition. ~.
