Périgueux: Éditions Pierre Fanlac, 1992. First edition of this posthumous collaboration between poet Pierre Seghers and artist Zao Wou-Ki, published five years after Seghers's death in 1987. The nature of their creative relationship remains somewhat enigmatic, though the result is a striking example of painter-poet dialogue.
One of 120 copies printed on Arches vellum paper, this being one of the 100 numbered in Arabic numerals (no. 69), signed and dated 1992 by Zao Wou-Ki. The book is illustrated with an original etching with aquatint, printed by Lacourière et Frélaut in Paris. Loose leaves in folded printed cover, housed in the original publisher's folder and slipcase (mild wear on the slipcase; contents in fine condition). (12.48 × 10.20 in; image size of etching: 7 ½ × 5 ½ in).
