The Home Letters of T.E. Lawrence and His Brothers

  • Oxford: Basil Blackwell, 1954
By [WW1] LAWRENCE,T.E.
Oxford: Basil Blackwell, 1954. First U.K. Edition. Large Octavo. 23.5cm. Publisher's blue cloth titled in gilt to spine. Dustjacket. [xvi]; 731pp. Light wear and bumping to edges, corners and spine ends; internally clean and fresh, illustrated; in a strong example of the pale grey dustjacket with a closed tear to the upper edge of the front panel and some soiling and general thumbing. A very good clean copy.

The preferred edition, with the Blackwells imprint, comprising the collected correspondence from T.E. Lawrence to his equally adventurous but slightly less famous brothers, with photographs of the Lawrence family and a number of maps and drawing by Lawrence detailing their travels and exploits. An unwieldy book, more usually seen in rather dilapidated condition.
