From Introduction: In 1986, the INAH’s Yucatan Regional Center was funded by the State of Yucatan’s Regional Development Program and the Agreement of the Programming and Budget Secretariat to carry out two archaeological projects at Uxmal. The first project was devoted to restoring most of the northern portion of the Great Platform of the Palace of the Governor, and all the southern stairways leading to the Nunnery Quadrangle. The second one dealt with the ecological preservation of the area between the Palace of the Governor and the Nunnery Quadrangle and adjacent areas.
