Large octavo [25 cm] Quarterbound in light brown leather with hand carved dark brown wood boards, raised spine bands, and embossed title and designs on the leather of the spine and boards. Top edge gilt. Other edges deckled. Title page printed in black and orange. Each illustration is present in duplicate, accompanied with captioned tissue-guards (one tissue guard absent in volume I). Complete. All plates present. Leather spines darkened and a bit rubbed. Four of the spines are additionally darkened at the foot, due to moisture staining. A handful of volumes with small chipped losses to the leather at the head of the spine. Volumes I, II and V are moisture stained along the bottom edge of the endpapers and terminal leaves. Prominent cracks in the rear joint of volume I at the head and foot of the spine. Boards of volume X mildly warped. Some darkening to the plates. A bit of off-setting from the plates. Occasional foxing. Pages quite bright. Bindings strong. Several volumes in good condition only, else the volumes are in very good condition.
