First edition, variant of the first issue *Sabin* 102269 with "Address" changed to "Discourse" on page five. 62pp. Lacking the original wrappers and bound in papercovered boards with cloth spine hand-sewn, hand-printed label on front board. Pages foxed, else very good. Published less than a month after Adams and Jefferson both passed away on July 4, 1826. The first appearance of Adams' "Sink or swim, live or die, survive or perish" speech. Adam first used these words in a conversation which took place in 1774.
