Activist H. Rap Brown, also known as Jamil Abdullah al-Amin, served as Chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee in the 1960s and later became a primary voice in the Black Power movement.

Provenance: Previous owner's name Marj Swann written on front free endpaper. Swann was an early leader in the nonviolent peace movement, protesting for civil rights and against nuclear war.
