A defense of the recently-impeached New York Governor William Sulzer, whose reformist and populist policies had put him at odds with the Tammany Hall regime, with predictable results. He remains the only New York governor ever to have been successfully impeached, though he did succeed in somewhat reviving his political career following his ouster from the Governor's mansion, running as a candidate for various offices under the auspices of a variety of third parties, including the Progressive Party and the Prohibition Party.
