The Detroit Bulldog Club, Inc. was founded in 1920 and incorporated in 1928 as a community for those who breed bulldogs, enter them in shows, or who are just fond of bulldogs, in order to promote the betterment of the breed and education surrounding bulldogs. The club holds an annual specialty dog show specifically for bulldogs, which was started in the 1930s. The two programs, dated October 10, 1937, consist of the prizes and entry names for the Eighth Annual AKC Licensed Specialty Show given by The Detroit Bulldog Club, Inc. The programs are also annotated with the places each bulldog took in the show in two separate hands. Many of the original photographs appear to be professional photographs of show bulldogs and of bulldog puppies who were potentially future prize-winners. One of the two original pencil drawings is of a bulldog named Morovian Mandalay and is signed by the artist Vernon Hampton. The other pencil drawing is signed by artist W. E. Lockett. The puppy dog eyes featured in these photographs will melt the heart of any bulldog-lover! .
