[VIRGINIA] [RICHMOND] THE WAKEFIELD GRILL PLACEMAT
- Richmond, VA , 1960
Richmond, VA, 1960. 9 1/2” x 14” paper placemat with scalloped edges. Purple writing shows the restaurant, its address, and tagline - “Richmond’s one and only ‘Chicken in the Rough’. Private dining room for weddings and private parties. At 3124 W. Broad Street, this site is now a bank. ~~Chicken in the Rough was one of America’s earliest food chains, consisting of half a fried chicken, shoestring potatoes, and a biscuit with honey. The name came from the founders eating a similar meal on the road with no silverware. At its height in the 1960s, this franchise is now only at 3 locations.~~Very good.
