1924. BURSSENS, Gaston. Piano. 32 pp. Bound loose as issued in the original illustrated wrappers, in publisher's slipcase and new cloth box. Mechelen: Holemans, 1924. Burssens is best known for this work, which solidified his reputation as one of the three "real" Flemish Expressionists. With its strikingly original design, featuring an overprinting of the main body of text with stenciled words in different colours and type styles, Piano won him international recognition. Number 103 of 225 copies, all printed on Hollands Van Gelder paper at the press of J.E. Buschmann. Covers a little toned but overall a very nice copy.
