New York: The Viking Press, 1973. First edition and first printing. Hardcover. 314 pages. A biography of New York City police officer Frank Serpico who was best known for his work on corruption. The basis for the classic Sidney Lumet directed movie with Al Pacino in the title role. A near fine copy in paper covered boards with a cloth spine with some slight sunning to the bottom of the rear board and in a near fine dust jacket with some minor wear. Signed and warmly inscribed by Maas on the front free endpaper at the time of publication. A very nice copy as the recipient worked at bookstore in Chicago.
