[Photograph] GROUP OF EIGHT WOMEN
1870
1870. Photograph with curved top, about 8-1/2 inches wide by 5-5/8 inches at its tallest point, mounted on cardboard. No identifying marks. Lower right corner of backing missing, but photo intact. The women appear to be school teachers. In front of them is a low table with school bells and packages of paper. (One of the reams is turned so that the front may be read: A picture of an eagle and the words Eagle Mills Manila Paper are discernable.) They seem to be in a field, with a sheet hanging behind them as backdrop. All are wearing aprons over their dresses, and carry hats, except for one who has an umbrella. All look pretty grim, probably as a result of having to hold still for the picture. (Inventory #: 31499)
