By Bangs, John Kendrick
New York: Harper & Brothers, 1906. Very good minus.. Rather scarce first edition of Bangs's double pastiche of Doyle and Hornung, featuring the exploits of Raffles Holmes, offspring of both his namesakes. 6.5'' x 4.5''. Original blue and red pictorial cloth. Illustrated with frontispiece and five additional plates by Sydney Adamson. 230, [2] pages. This copy from the library of the noted actor and Sherlockian Curtis Armstrong, with his emboss to front free endpaper. Hinges cracked, showing webbing, but still intact. Evidence of bookplate removal to front paste-down. Moderate edgewear and scuffing, with a few pen markings to rear board. Spine sunned.
