With its exhibition hall closed for renovations, the Malmö Konsthall commissioned Barbara Kruger to design her first Scandinavian billboard project, to be installed in over fifty locations throughout Sweden (March - April, 1994). Seizing upon the theme of crowd psychology, Kruger subsumed her trademark You with an imperative Us; the slogan translating as: "Think like us / Speak like us / Love like us / Hate like us / Look like us / Live like us.
