New York: Max Holden, 1948. Paperback. Very Good. Stapled wraps, printed in dark green on light green textured paper, 109 pp. Theodore Annemann (1907-1942) was a professional musician who specialized in mentalism and an impressive bullet-catching routine. He started at age 14 with an A.C. Gilbert magic set and progressed to an impressive career. He eventually published and contributed to the magic magazine The Jinx (1934-41) which did not continue after his death. This posthumously published book of card tricks is pulled from his magazine articles. He led a troubled life and suffered from near-debilitating stage fright. Although he committed suicide in January 1942, he was a big enough “brand name” that posthumous works using his name continued to be published for a decade after his death.
