Unusual Trench Art Pail

  • France (?) , 1916
France (?), 1916. Near Fine. Made of tin and copper scraps strewn about in the trenches of the First World War, by soldiers seeking to dispel the long and boring lulls in combat with a creative project. We have had, and seen a lot more, so-called Trench Art, but never such a miniature pail. N.d., between 1914 and 1918. 5 cm tall.
