np: Currier & Ives, 1850. Illustrated, handcolored broadside. Oblong 14" x 17-3/4. Light margin spotting and several shallow closed margin tears [no loss]. Light blank corner chipping. Old matting remnant on blank verso. Faint blindstamp in lower left margin, which reads, "In Aid of the Ladies of Mount Vernon Association... General." Very Good.

Mount Vernon with trees on either side and the Potomac River to the left. "A view of Mount Vernon, Washington's home is set atop a gentle rise. Eight columns line the front porch. In the foreground a couple look up at the house. A family group at the bottom of the hill is walking away from the house" [Gale].
