Author attribution from bibliographical records. Evident FIRST EDITION. A community cookbook produced in support of the YMCA Building Fund of Petersburg, Va. The recipes, in short narrative form, are attributed with formal names, and include: Confederate States Pudding, Eggs on Foam, Marguerites, Zimmet Kitchen Buns, Old Billy Bonner's Way to Barbecue Shoat, the Charleston Way to Boil Rice, and Pickle Prunes. The ice cream section is interesting. Some recipes include wine or liquor as an ingredient. Some age-toning to text-block; a few neat, closed tears to some leaves. In stiff, black leather covered boards, gilt-titled and decorated with a medallion on the front panel. Neatly and professionally rebacked. Near fine. Rare.
