A facsimile of the extremely rare original, published London 1728 by Samuel Jallasson (only six copies of the original are recorded by OCLC). Considered the earliest known work on the wines of Burgundy. The book discusses Burgundy and its wines, its climates, the manner of managing the vines, of vinifying the grapes, testing and marketing wines, and offers a plea for the export of bottled wine to be authorized. One of the series of handsome facsimiles of culinary works made by the important collector Daniel Morcrette of Limoges. In full reddish brown calf-skin, gilt-titled and -decorated. With the bookplate of the Carl Sontheimer Foundation. Scarce.
