New York: S. Van Campen & Co., 1880. Very good. Stipple engraving, n. d. (late 19th century); light-pink card stock - 7 3/4 x 5 1/2, image - 5 1/2 x 4; caption and publisher's imprint in ornate font at bottom margin; a few very minor spots to right corners (not affecting image); light fading to verso; in very good or better condition. A beautiful one-quarter portrait, it depicted Edwin Thomas Booth (1833 - 1893) - stage actor, founder of Booth's Theatre in New York, and - considered by many - the greatest American actor of the 19th century. He was also the older brother of John Wilkes Booth (1838 - 1865) - another stage actor, who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln at Ford's Theatre on April 14, 1865.
