First edition; 6 1/2 x 4 3/4; pp. [8], 1-164; light-blue paper over boards, printed and decorated in dark-blue; slipcase in beige and black, printed in dark-blue; illustrated with photographs; small rubbed spots to corners of boards and two small chips to tail of spine and bottom edge; occasional light spotting, mostly to first and last few leaves; back hinge a bit shaken; slipcase with wear to edges; in good or better condition.A scarce, WWII unit history of Cannon Company, 362nd Infantry regiment, 91st Division - it was titled after the motto of the 91st Infantry Division, known as the "Powder River" Division - "Powder River, Let 'er Buck." The slogan had originated the Powder River region in the American West and was appropriated by the soldiers, as the majority of them were from thw Western states during both world wars. The division fought in the Italian Campaign of WWII and saw heavy combat throughout Italy, including the Arno River Campaign, the Gothic Line, and the Po Valley Offensive. The book included histories of the platoons of the unit, memories of the war, lists of medals and awards (Purple Heart, Bronze Star, etc.), and so on.
