Washington: Government Printing Office, 1864, 1865. Joseph H. Eaton taught at the U.S. Military Academy and fought in the Mexican War. From 1861 to 1863, he was paymaster for Kansas. In 1864 he became Assistant to the Paymaster General of the United States Army. He served in (truncated) that office until the war ended.
