First Edition in English of GM 6169, which originally appeared in 1819, by the outstanding personality of Heidelberg's medical faculty during the first half of the 19th century. This is one of Naegele's earliest publications on obstetrics, the field in which he acquired his renown. This study, in addition to pointing out the important phenomenon of asynclitism, calls attention to the frequency of spontaneous rotation of occiput, attributing this to the resistance of the pelvic floor.
