Typed in purple ink by the chief builder of the New York City rail system on rare "Rapid Transit Railroad Commissioners" letterhead used prior to the subway's transfer to city administration, in part: "I accept, with pleasure, the invitation kindly tendered me by the Committee on the Erection and Dedication of the Statue of General George Washington, at the Unveiling at the Brooklyn Plaza of the Williamsburg Bridge..." Usual folds plus some wrinkling on the right edge; still a handsome piece in very good condition. (Inventory #: 152855)
