The title and copyright page remain unchanged from the first edition, but a two page Appendix has been added at rear, containing revisions and expansions of four sections in the first edition. A new "Preface to the Second Edition", dated January 1868, follows title page. With the Table of Contents, this is the scope of the revisions, with the original text block the same. Internally clean and sound. In publisher's green pebbled cloth, gilt-titled on the spine. Slightest bit of rubbing to the head of the spine, otherwise fine. Early ownership signature to preliminary blank, "J.K. Blackman"
