An example of eccentric modernist book making from the little-known Portuguese educator and amateur printer Paulo de Cantos who lived from 1892 to 1979. An aphoristic ollection of ethnographic information. The title includes a rebus for "eye". Although without any of De Cantos's eccentric illustrations the book makes a distinctive use of typography.
