Photographic Image. Very Good. No Binding. Alan B. Stone was a pioneer of beefcake photography, along with names like Bruce Bellas (Bruce of LA) and Bob Mizer. These photographers provided visual representation for hidden gay desire in a time before the first wave of gay liberation by highlighting the nude physique of male models and athletes. In 1953, Stone began running an international mail-order business, Mike Studio One, for his erotic photographs from his basement in Montreal. There was a documentary made in 2006 as a tribute to Mr. Stone, the cover of which features a photo of Mike Mangione that is part of this offered collection. A fine collection of four 8" x 10" black and white prints from a very high-quality editorial beefcake photo shoot starring a recognizable model from this mid-century era of photography. The model wears a posing strap as he poses for two half-body and two full-body shots in classical and editorial poses.
