Four Large Mid-Century Partially-Nude Male Physique "Beefcake" Photograph Prints of a Series of Model Mike Mangione Taken by Montreal-Based Male Physique Photographer Alan B. Stone

Photographic Image. Very Good. No Binding. Alan B. Stone was a pioneer of beefcake photography, along with names like Bruce Bellas (Bruce of LA) and Bob Mizer. These photographers provided visual representation for hidden gay desire in a time before the first wave of gay liberation by highlighting the nude physique of male models and athletes. In 1953, Stone began running an international mail-order business, Mike Studio One, for his erotic photographs from his basement in Montreal. There was a documentary made in 2006 as a tribute to Mr. Stone, the cover of which features a photo of Mike Mangione that is part of this offered collection. A fine collection of four 8" x 10" black and white prints from a very high-quality editorial beefcake photo shoot starring a recognizable model from this mid-century era of photography. The model wears a posing strap as he poses for two half-body and two full-body shots in classical and editorial poses. The prints have some curling to the edges, but are otherwise in very good condition. Prints unsigned, model and photographer identified by online searches. .
