Ex-Army Medical School Library with their extensive contemporary rubber-stamps and small paper spine label, cloth rather worn with exposure at corners, front joint splitting, old pencil markings to front pastedown messily (and only partly) erased, preliminaries foxed; overall a Good or better example.

The first biography of the English chemist and physicist Henry Cavendish (1731-1810), best remembered for discovering hydrogen. Provenance: 19th century ownership rubber-stamps of the Army Medical School Library and 20th century ex libris of the late chemist and bibliophile Sydney Ross to front pastedown.
