United States: Tokio Cigarettes, 1910. Very good. Minor flaws including light fraying of silk, sunning or toning, soiling.. A collection of seventy (70) butterfly and moth tobacco silks, each originally sold with a cigarette carton as part of an advertising campaign for Tokio brand cigarettes. Alone, they are fine pieces of material history, but together, they become a vibrant and colorful flight of fancy. Each silk measures approx. 3.25" by 2.25", and is color printed with a butterfly in the center, the brand name, and the factory number that produced it (e.g. "Factory No. 649, First Dist., N.Y."). Two of the silks are larger (4.25" by 6.75"). Includes a small handful of duplicates.
