Frederick City, MD: Unique, 1870 - 1890. Full contemporary stamped leather (as a ledger).. Very good; some scuffing to the binding; some spotting - esp. to the prelims.. . Oblong 4to, 24 pp. of cooking recipes in two distinct hands and different periods; 90 pp. of sermons (5) and historical notes and essay. The balance of this thick ledger is blank.
A dual use notebook. The recipes - for puddings and cake also involve "kitchen directions", e.g., how to preserve meat etc. The sermons and historical notes appear to be final copies of materials preached or used at the Presbyterian Church of Frederick City, Maryland. The text is segregated. There are some news clippings inserted.
