A year after the infamous Chicago Democratic convention of August 1968 the SDS planned a week long event in Chicago. A "National Action" - street protests in Chicago against the continuing war in Vietnam. These protests marked the emergence of the Weathermen faction in the SDS. The document offered here was freely distributed in Chicago during that time. The October SDS National Council meeting in Boulder (Oct. 1968) had adapted the slogan: "The elections don't mean shit - Vote where the power is - Our power is in the street!". Few turned up, most were arrested. We brought the war to the streets.
