Very good to fine; creased where previously folded, one short tear to lower margin of advertisement (not affecting text or image), light toning to both items.. Illustrated bifolium advertisement (11" by 8") printed in red and black for Hascall's Carbon Paint, "A scientific combination of oils and pigments possessing perfect elasticity" for "tin, iron, felt, canvas or shingle roofs, bridges, iron or steel buildings, machinery, tanks, etc." (p. [1]). Includes descriptions of the product's durability and suitability for painting different kinds of architecture black. The front page illustration depicts workers applying Hascall's Carbon Paint to a roof in the background, with a beautiful Gibson Girl-esque woman on a ladder in the foreground. Offered together with a typewritten letter on Haskell Paint Co. illustrated letterhead (11" by 8.25") with original postmarked envelope (3.75" by 6.25"), offering a trial barrel of paint to R.H. Davis & Co. of Bristow, Virginia.
