New-gay

hommes, femmes, bissex

  • saddle-stapled color illustrated wraps
  • Marseille: Société J.P.F., 1983

A periodical entirely devoted to personal ads from individuals and couples throughout France seeking erotic contacts; published in a random order with no subdivisions by type or even by region.

Despite the reference to "gay" in the publication title, the advertisers are gay, lesbian and bisexual (or "bissex" in the parlance of the journal); many present themselves as "travesti" or "transsex" — or as interested in same.

A considerable number of the ads solicit participants in an array of kink and fetish practices. Approximately one-third of the ads include black-and-white photos of the advertiser, all of them White. By contrast, the front wrap is devoted to a photo of a pair of muscular young Black men, one in shorts and one nude.

Offered here is the only recorded copy of an issue of New-gay. The frequency and the dates of first and last issues are unknown.

No holdings in WorldCat or the Catalogue Collectif de France.

CONDITION: Minor wear & soiling to wraps; annotation in blue ballpoint on front wrap: "Novembre 1983"; dent to outside corners of front wrap & initial leaves.

NOTE: Masked for public posting. Unmasked image upon request.
